I won’t lie, Christmas felt a little off this year, but a photoshoot was the perfect cheer-up I needed. This year’s look is a continuation of last year’s Enchanted Emerald, where green once again takes center stage.
For this photoshoot, I decided to have my pictures taken at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel. In the courtyard area outside, there is a large Christmas tree and I thought that would be a good place to have some fashion shots taken. The sun was starting to come out a little which helped bring out those shadows that I really like.
The long green coat stands at the forefront, effortlessly commanding the room and anchoring the look in color and elegance. I bought a cute little black bag with a bow from TJMaxx a few days ago and thought it would go well with a pair of silver stilettos I received as a gift earlier this year. TJMaxx has some of the cutest bags and serves as a reminder that everything doesn’t need to be an expensive name brand. I recently purchased emerald earrings from Swarovski and paired that with an emerald cut emerald ring. To top that off, literally, I wore a houndstooth beret to contrast the solid tones.
For this shoot, I wanted to do something different so I directed my photographer to stand between and behind nearby plants. Not only does this frame me as the main subject, but it also adds more depth and mystery that you don’t usually see in a typical fashion shoot.
