I may be a bit biased since fall is my birthday season, but autumn fashion is by far my favorite season to dress up for. For this fall chic look, I wore my favorite Houndstooth Stripe Sweater as my statement piece. For statement pieces, like bold patterns, it’s ideal to keep the rest of the outfit solid to prevent competing elements. I visited Midtown Center in DC and took some pictures in the hallway to emphasize that dark, moody look.
The houndstooth pattern, which originated in the Scottish lowlands between 360 AD and 100 AC, is perfect for fall and can effortlessly add a sophisticated touch to any look. I paired the sweater with black slit pants and a red long sleeve shirt for a splash of color. For accessories, I wore a black wool hat, pointed-toe stiletto pumps, a rose gold bracelet, a light brown leather purse, and a pearl necklace as the finishing touch.
